Motorcyclist in his 20s dies after Rochester crash
A motorcyclist aged in his 20s has died following a crash in Rochester[1] today (Wednesday). Now officers are seeking witnesses to the incident.
Police were called to the B2097 Rochester Road – near the Laker Road junction – shortly after 5pm. It was reported that a black Yamaha motorcycle travelling towards Blue Bell Hill collided with a blue Ford Fiesta travelling in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle rider was declared dead at the scene. The deceased has not been identified yet but police say he was from Aylesford
In a statement, Kent Police[3] said: “Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Rochester. Kent Police was called to the B2097, Rochester Road near to the junction with Laker Road at about 5.15pm on Wednesday 3 January 2024 after it was reported that a black Yamaha motorbike, travelling towards Blue Bell Hill was in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta travelling in the opposite direction.
“The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s from Aylesford was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles beforehand should call the SCIU witness appeal line on 01622 798538[4] or email [email protected], quoting RY/FM/002/24. Dashcam footage can also be submitted here[5].”
