Man died after being hit by BMW in Gillingham

A man has died after he was hit by a car in Gillingham. The victim, a man in his 60s, was struck in the fatal collision on Friday, November 24.

He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Police have now confirmed he sadly died a month later on Christmas eve (December 24).

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone with potential dashcam footage from the incident to get in touch.

The fatal crash took place around 9.20pm on November 25, 2023. A blue BMW M3 convertible was travelling along Pier Road when it struck a pedestrian near the junction with Mariners View.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he died on Sunday 24 December.

“Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to call the SCIU witness appeal line on 01622 798538 or email [email protected][1] quoting SM/SS/125/23.
