At Carlisle[1] Crown Court, Nathan Walker, 26, formally pleaded not guilty to the the allegation, which relates to a traffic collision at Kirkby Thore on December 22, 2021 which led to the death of Paul Stenner, who was driving a MAN goods vehicle.
The two vehicles involved were travelling in opposite directions.
The prosecution case is that the defendant, of Hall Close, Hemsworth, Pontefract, caused Mr Stenner’s death by careless driving.
Judge Nicholas Barker set out a timetable for the case, including dates by which the defence must serve certain documents. This will include medical evidence relating to the defence case.
Judge Barker set out a provisional trial date of August 5, though there will be an interim hearing to review progress in the case on May 9. The defendant was granted unconditional bail until his next court appearance.
