Leeds traffic latest as police shut roads near train tracks

There is traffic chaos across Leeds this afternoon as emergency services respond to an incident on the railway tracks above Kirkstall Road.
A train has come to a complete standstill on the tracks and there are a lot of emergency services at the scene including police[1], ambulance and the fire services. At this time, it is unclear what the nature of the incident is.
It is understood that the train has come to a stop due to ‘trespassers’ on the line and may be linked to an incident shared by Northern Rail. On X, they said: “Due to trespassers on the railway between Leeds and Harrogate the line is blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed.”
