Wanderers will be keen to test themselves against Premier League opposition when they head to Luton[1] in the FA Cup third round.

Ian Evatt’s men reached this stage following a 5-1 win against Harrogate. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scored a hat trick, with Dan Nlundulu also bagging a brace.

The Whites[2] enter the fixture on the back of four successive wins in League One following their 1-0 victory against Burton on New Year’s Day.

Team news

Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns for their trip to Kenilworth Road despite the busy festive period.

Dan Nlundulu is nearly ready to start his rehabilitation phase after having surgery to repair a torn hamstring.

The 24-year-old picked up the injury during the 2-0 win against Port Vale in the EFL Trophy last month. George Johnston is the other long-term absentee in the Bolton[3] camp.

Luton will be without Marvelous Nakamba[4] and Tom Lockyer[5]. Issa Kabore is available but will link up with Burkina Fase for the Africa Cup of Nations after the game.

Opposition lowdown

The Hatters currently sit 18th in the Premier League table as they aim to build on last season’s promotion from the Championship.

Rob Edwards’ side have were written off by many before a ball had been kicked but have picked up wins against Everton[6], Crystal Palace[7], Newcastle and Sheffield United[8] so far.

Luton suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Chelsea[9] in their last outing despite late goals from Ross Barkley[10] and Elijah Adebayo[11].

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced the Hatters 36 times in their history, with a record of 17 wins, nine draws and 10 defeats.

The Whites haven’t faced Luton in a competitive fixture since a 6-2 victory in January 1997, also in the FA Cup. John McGinlay was among the scorers that day.

That was a replay after the initial tie at Kenilworth Road had finished 1-1 several days prior, with Jamie Pollock getting on the scoresheet.
