Four-way lights spark huge delays on this Stoke-on-Trent road

Motorists have been caught up in huge queues after four-way traffic lights went up on one of Stoke-on-Trent’s busiest roads. The temporary lights have been installed on Weston Coyney’s[1] Weston Road at the junction of Weston Coyney Road.

They have sparked congestion all the way back to the row of shops in Meir and down towards Park Hall Country Park in the other direction. According to roadworks monitoring site One.Network, the lights are in place due to ‘bus stop upgrades’ being overseen by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.[2]

The site also states that the work should finish later today (January 16). It has marked more disruption for families in the area[3] with various telecommunications works already been carried out in Weston Coyney.
