First picture of ‘beautiful soul’ who died in motorbike crash
Floral tributes have been laid in memory of a “beautiful soul” who died in a car crash in Bromborough.
Jason Threlfall, 36, died after his Kawasaki Z900 motorbike collided with a white Kia Sportage car at the junction of Stadium Road and Commercial Road in Bromborough at 7.55am on January 10. The area was closed for more than four hours as police and ambulance services rushed to the scene. Stadium Road was cordoned off between Caldbeck Road and Georgia Avenue, with passing cars being diverted around the nearby Croft Retail and Leisure Park. A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Bunches of flowers, tribute cards, messages and photographs have been placed at the scene of the incident in memory of the motorcyclist, who was described by his friends as a “Nocky legend”.[1]
One note read: “There are no words that will ever cover how we are all feeling losing you J, you were more like a big brother to me than a cousin and I’m going to miss your infectious laugh and huge smile. You were one of the most caring souls out there and would help anyone. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.”
Another read: “Night night my precious soul, beautiful inside and out. Sleep well our J. I love you like my own. Gonna miss you so much. Cannot believe I will never hear your voice again or see that cheeky smile. Absolutely heartbroken. Fly high with your nan and Lacey.”
A poem, signed “Love you always – Mum”, read: “They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true.
“I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
“A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
“In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still.
“In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.
“If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I’d walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.
“Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as we’re called one by one, the chain will link again.”
