Child taken to hospital after crash on M50 near Ledbury

West Mercia Police say they were called to a report of a car on its roof near junction 3 of the westbound carriageway of the motorway at about 5.40pm.

A spokesperson said: “A child was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.”

A fire service spokesman said: "A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Ledbury Fire Station was called, along with a Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Tewkesbury, at 5.35pm on January 1 to an RTC on the M50 Westbound between junctions 2 and 3.

"Four casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

"Crews made the scene safe using small tools and a Tirfor winch. Police also attended."
