Weymouth train passengers suffer delays after points failure

The points failures at Westbury mean that fewer trains can run, and disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Services between Westbury and Weymouth via Yeovil Pen Mill will be impacted.

For passengers travelling from Weymouth towards Westbury road transport will be provided by Weymouth station staff – calling at all stops towards Westbury.

Road transport will run between Westbury to Frome (return) – speak to station staff.

A spokesperson for Great Western Railways said: “Customers are requested to check the station onward travel information poster and wait for replacement road transport at the designated stop.

“Customers are advised that the replacement road transport may run later than the advertised train times owing to the additional time taken by road between stations and the time required for loading and unloading at each stop.”
