Tragedy as man dies after being hit by Vauxhall Corsa as he crossed road

Police are appealing for information after a man was tragically killed in a road collision. The 81 year old was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa on the A4169 near to the junction of Lightmoor Road in Telford.[1]

Following the incident at 10.25am on Sunday, December 10, the man was rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.[2] But sadly, his injuries were not survivable and he died a short time later.

And now West Mercia Police officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrian on the A4169 near to the junction of Lightmoor Road in Telford.[3][4]

“The incident happened on Sunday morning (10 December) around 10.25am when a black Vauxhall Corsa that was travelling on the A4169 collided with a man who was crossing the road. The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital but sadly the 81-year-old man died from him injuries.”

They added: “Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to anybody who saw the incident or anybody with dash cam footage from around the time it happened. Anyone with information should contact PC Valente by email [email protected] or by calling 07900656409.
