Recap after crash at A47 junction between Leicester and Hinckley causes delays
A driver has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A47 this morning, which was still causing delays in the area three hours later. The emergency services were called at about 11.20am to the collision at the Dans Lane junction, which involved a car and a lorry.
Leicestershire Police[1] confirmed they were still at the scene at 12.50pm today, waiting for the county highways team to clear up an oil spill on the road. Google Maps showed some queueing traffic in the area at that time.
The police said the driver of the car had been taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The junction is where the A47 between Leicester and Hinckley[2] meets Dans Lane.
The police said in a tweet: “Junction of A47 at Desford Crossroad onto Dans Lane Leicester Forest West due to a Collision. Please find alternative routes whilst officers deal with this.”
