Police warn ‘avoid the area’ at Goole level crossing – RECAP

Police earlier told drivers to “avoid the area” when the barriers at Goole railway station needed urgent repairs, blocking the road and causing serious congestion.

The problem has since been fixed and traffic is flowing normally. Traffic[1] built up due to Boothferry Road being blocked. AA Maps reported serious congestion in Boothferry Road, Lower Bridge Street, and Pasture Road near the railway station.

In an earlier tweet, Humberside Police said: “Please be aware that the train barriers on Boothferry Road in Goole[2] are down and are causing a build up in traffic. Please avoid the area.”

Hull Live approached Network Rail for comment and more information. Hull Live will update this article when more information becomes available.
