Police hunting for two men after deliberate Christmas Eve fire in Cumbernauld car park
A car was deliberately set on fire at a car park in Cumbernauld[1] during the early hours of Christmas Eve morning.
Detectives[2] are appealing for information following a wilful fire raising at a car park in the Burns Road area. At around 2.05am on Sunday, December 24, a white Skoda Octavia car was deliberately set on fire – with two men seen at the time running away from the scene.
The two men made off in the direction of North Carbrain Road in the town – one is described as dressed in dark clothing and carrying a white plastic carrier bag. The second man was also wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Craig Hartley said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dash-cam or private CCTV that could help with our enquiries.
“We are also looking to speak to the men seen at the time or anyone who knows who they are or where they went.
