North and mid Essex road closure coming to drivers | Gazette
Head Street will be closed from its junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 55m in a southerly direction.
Alongside this, the road will also see a temporary No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction introduced.
The closure and restriction are scheduled to commence on January 21 for two nights from 10pm to 6am.
They are required for the safety of the public and workforce while crane works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
- Elsewhere in Colchester, two roads will see a closure and restriction implemented in the new year.
Upland Drive will be closed from its junction with Ipswich Road to its junction with St Cyrus Road.
As well as this, there will be a temporary suspension of the 7.5T weight restriction to all traffic on St Johns Road, from its junction with St Cyrus Road to its junction with St Christopher Road.
The closure and suspension are scheduled to commence on January 10 for three days while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Ipswich Road, St Johns Road Roundabout, St Johns Road, St Christopher Road and vice versa
- In Ardleigh, a road is set for three days.
Station Road will shut from a point approximately 40m north west of its junction with Kiln Road for a distance of approximately 120m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on January 19 from 10pm to January 22 at 6am.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while track renewal works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Station Road, Frating Road, Slough Lane, Ardleigh Road, Colchester Road, Bromley Road, Parsons Heath Roundabout, Parsons Heath, Fox Street, John De Bois Hill and vice versa.
- In the Braintree district, a road is set for a short closure.
Church Street will be shutting to drivers from its junction with Miller Close to its junction with The Lillies a distance of approximately 80m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on January 15 for just one day.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Broad Road, Church Lane and vice versa (with access only into Church Street and Church Lane).
