The Minstermen travel to Gateshead on Boxing Day in the first of two meetings between the two sides held over the Festive Weekend.

Neal Ardley’s side will be hoping to collect an important three points on Boxing Day as they look to create a gap between themselves and the relegation zone in the National League.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Minstermen as the game in the North-East will take place only three days after Ardley’s side took on Ebbsfleet United at the LNER Community Stadium on the 23rd December.

Coming up against City will be a Gateshead side who have made a fine start to the season, sitting in and around the playoff positions in the National League table. Despite losing manager Mike Williamson to MK Dons earlier this season, the North-East club have still exceeded expectations as they look to secure a playoff spot at the end of the season.

Gateshead’s most recent fixture in the league was on the 23rd December as they faced a trip to Boundary Park to take on Oldham Athletic, where they ran out as 2-1 victors.
