Man arrested after mum and son die in horror crash near the edge of the Peak District
A second man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash[1] near Kelstedge. The collision, involving a Hyundai and a black BMW, occurred on the A632 Chesterfield Road at Span Carr, not far from Matlock, on Saturday, December 9 at around 10.20am.
A 59-year-old woman from the Hyundai, died at the scene of the collision, which also involved a black BMW. Her son, who was 22, died later at hospital after being taken there by air ambulance.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.

A 40-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the collision. He has been released on bail as investigations continue. Anyone with any information on the collision is asked to contact the force, using any of the non-emergency contact methods, quoting the reference number 23*756758.
