M60: Driver taken to hospital after crashing into lamp post
Three fire engines, from Ashton, Hyde, and Stalybridge, as well as a technical response unit from Stalybridge, were called to the scene of the crash just after 8am this morning (Tuesday, December 26).
The crash happened between Junction 23 and Junction 24 of the motorway, near Audenshaw Reservoirs.
The left-most lane of the motorway was closed in the anticlockwise direction as emergency services worked to clear the crash.

The lane was re-opened just after 10am.
The driver, who got out of the car themselves, was taken to hospital after being treated at the roadside by paramedics and the fire service.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokesperson issued the following statement: “Just after 8am this morning, firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a crash on the M60 anticlockwise between junctions 23 and 24.
“Three fire engines from Ashton, Hyde and Stalybridge fire stations, as well as the technical response unit from Stalybridge fire station quickly arrived at the scene, which involved a car that had collided with a lamp post at the side of the motorway.
“One casualty had self-rescued and was treated at the roadside by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and fire service personnel, before being taken to hospital.
“Firefighters were at the scene for around half an hour.”
North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police were contacted for comment.
