M25 crash near Brentwood sees woman killed and another woman rushed to hospital

A woman has sadly died and another is in hospital after a car crashed into the central reservation of the M25. Emergency services were called to the M25 on Saturday (December 23), at around 8.40pm following reports of the single-vehicle crash.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver, a young woman from London, sadly, died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. The passenger, a woman aged 20s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

The clockwise section of the road was closed between junction 27 heading towards junction 28 while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road remained shut well into Christmas Eve morning, reopening at around 4.30am.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “A woman has died following a collision on M25. We were notified of a single-vehicle collision on M25 at 8.40pm on Saturday 23 December in which it was reported a car had collided with the central reservation.

“The passenger, a woman aged 20s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The road was closed whilst officers from the Chigwell Roads Policing department and Forensic Collision Investigators carried out investigative enquiries at the scene.

“The road was reopened at around 4.30am on Sunday 24 December. Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who has information and has not already spoken to them.
