Live: M6 delays after ‘lorry hits bridge’

Motorists are facing delays on the M6 this afternoon after a lorry hit a bridge. Now a clean-up operation is underway following the incident on the southbound carriageway.

National Highways say the lorry hit a 'bridge support' which has resulted in two lanes being closed. It represents another incident on the M6 today which has sparked delays.

StokeonTrentLive reported[1] earlier how a collision saw all traffic 'temporarily held' at around 6am. More lanes were later reopened following that crash.

Now two lanes are shut between Junction 17 and 16 following the collision between a lorry and a bridge.

We will provide updates in our dedicated blog below.
