M5 reopens after overturned lorry sparks delays
Motorists on the M5 faced delays today (Wednesday, December 20) after a lorry overturned on the motorway near the Somerset border. Traffic was stopped on the Devon-bound carriageway between junction 28 and junction 29 in Devon.
According to traffic monitoring system Inrix, traffic was halted at around 7.55am. The motorway eventually reopened at around 8pm following a “complex” recovery process.
National Highways said: All lanes have now reopened on the #M5 southbound between J28 (#Cullompton) and J29 (#Exeter) following the earlier overturned lorry. Traffic is now running smoothly through the area.”
