Live M25 updates as car overturns in crash with lorry leaving fuel spill on the road
A crash on the M25 involving a lorry and a car which has overturned resulted in fuel spillages and lane closures this morning (December 2). The incident, which took place between Junction 25 A10 Great Cambridge Road (Enfield) and Junction 26 A121 (Waltham Abbey) on the clockwise carriageway, has led to very slow traffic in the area.
Lanes one and two of four are currently closed as a result of the crash, which originally resulted in a complete standstill of traffic for 40 minutes. The incident was first reported just before 6.30 this morning, according to Inrix, which provides real-time data on traffic from across the country.
A statement from Inrix said: "Accident on M25 clockwise between J25 A10 Great Cambridge Road (Enfield) and J26 A121 (Waltham Abbey). A lorry and an overturned car were involved. Fuel spillage. Two lanes closed and very slow traffic. Cameras show that lanes one and two (of four) remain closed after the road was blocked for around 40 minutes"
