Flowers left on Northumberland roadside following crash which tragically took lives of two Blyth teenagers
Flowers have been left at a Northumberland roadside following a crash which tragically took the lives of two Blyth[1] teenagers just before Christmas[2].
Connor Lapworth, 18, and Corey Mavin, 15, sadly died after the three-vehicle collision which took place on the A192 Hartford Bank, in Cramlington[3] at around 9.30pm on Friday, December 22. It is understood a Suzuki Vitara, a Range Rover Evoque, and a Ford Focus collided for reasons yet to be established by police.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics and members of the public, Connor who was in the Suzuki, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Corey, who was also in the Suzuki, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. However, he sadly died on Saturday, December 23.
On Christmas Eve several bunches of brightly coloured flowers were placed at the scene of the collision in Cramlington in tribute to Connor and Corey. Northumbria Police has confirmed that both of their families are being supported by specialist Family Liaison Officers at this devastating time.
A 41-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy who were also in the Suzuki suffered serious injuries in the collision and were admitted to hospital where they remain at this time.

A 36-year-old woman who was driving the Range Rover suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while the 52-year-old female driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured in the collision.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to contact the force.
Sgt Surrey added: “We are asking anyone who may have seen the moments leading up to the collision or anyone who has information regarding the three vehicles involved being driven in the area to contact us immediately.
“Anyone who has dash cam footage of the area around the time of the incident should also get in touch. Your information, no matter how small you feel it may be, could help us to ascertain exactly what happened.”
