Exact times coastal Essex areas will be hit by 45mph winds tomorrow
These are the areas of Essex set to be battered by thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning. Coastal towns such as Southend, Frinton and Brightlingsea are set to face the brunt of the bad weather in the afternoon.
Parts of the coast of England, including areas in Essex, are set to experience strong winds amid the thunderstorm tomorrow (December 27), between 3am and 6pm. As a result of the winds, the weather experts say that some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
They added that it’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves, including those costal areas in Essex. They also say that travel could be affected to some bus and train services, with some journeys taking longer. There could also be some short term loss of power and other services.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “A spell of strong southwesterly winds are likely during Wednesday, initially affecting Cornwall in the west of the warning area before spreading eastwards through the course of the day. Gusts are likely to reach 50-60 mph fairly widely, with a risk of 65-70 mph across some exposed headlands. Disruption or delays to transport are possible.”
