Driver taken to hospital after crash involving Asda truck in Orford
The collision took place at approximately 11.57am yesterday, Thursday, at the junction of Battersby Lane and Forshaw Street.
Dashcam footage showed the delivery driver pull out of the street to turn right onto the main road.
As they pulled out, the silver BMW travelling along the main road was hit in the side by the truck, pushing the vehicle onto the path and bringing it to a standstill.
The driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported on a post on a social media post that they ‘really got to know the Asda price feeling’ and that shortly after the incident they went to the hospital.
“If you were wondering why your Asda groceries were a bit late this morning,” they said on a post on Dallam community page.
“I am glad the driver was okay. I have gone to the hospital and it’s not critical,” they added.
An image of the side of the vehicle which was hit showed the window to be completely smashed, the door crushed and the wing mirror hanging off.
Asda have been contacted for comment.
