A busy Southampton[1] bridge is set to close to motorists this month.
Cobden Bridge will close for six nights from December 11 as improvement works continue.
Working hours will be between 8pm and 6am each night, excluding weekends.
During the day, the works area will reduce to the restrictions that are currently in place, which includes temporary traffic lights.
A full closure of St Denys Road[2] will be in place between Thomas Lewis Way and Bitterne Triangle, including the bridge.
A spokesperson from Southampton City Council said: “We are able to complete a major portion of the work before Christmas, which will aid the completion of this project ahead of schedule.
“These works will involve resurfacing and relining of portions of St Denys Road and Cobden Bridge, which has been programmed to take place overnight to reduce disruption[3] to residents.”
This closure forms part of the ongoing cycle improvement[4] and safety works to the St Denys Road junction with Priory Road.
