A1 Great North Road blocked by three-car crash between Grantham and Colsterworth – as it happened

Part of the A1 in Lincolnshire was blocked following a three-vehicle crash. The A1 Great North Road was closed southbound between the A607 in Grantham and the A151 in Colsterworth on Monday, December 4.

There was congestion past Easton and traffic was queueing for 20 minutes, according to the traffic monitoring service Inrix. All lanes reopened around 1.30pm, having been closed at 9.43am.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police were in attendance at the scene. The crash involved a black BMW, a blue Ford Fiesta and a lorry. There didn’t appear to be any serious injuries, a force spokesperson said.

Eyewitnesses also reported that the East Midlands Ambulance Service had been dispatched. The National Highways: East Midlands team warned drivers to allow extra journey time and to approach with caution.
