Woman dies after BMW crashes with lamppost and parked car
An elderly woman died following a crash in Saltford yesterday (November 6). Avon and Somerset Police[1] said a BMW 320D collided with a lamppost and a parked car at low speed on Pepys Close at around 6.40pm.
Emergency services rushed to the crash but the driver – a woman aged in his 70s – died at the scene. Police added there was a passenger in the BMW but they were not injured.
The road was closed following the collision but reopened at around 12.40am this morning (November 7). Investigating officers are now appealing to the public for information on what happened.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “We will be carrying out house-to-house enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who has doorbell or CCTV coverage that may provide further information about what happened.
