Weather forecast for Essex towns and cities as Storm Debi to hit UK
The fourth named storm of the season is set to bring strong wind and heavy rain to areas of the UK on Monday (November 13). Storm Debi was named by the Met Éireann – the Irish met service- on Sunday.
Storm Debi is forecast to hit the Republic of Ireland hardest before moving across into Northern England. It is expected to then pass over into the North Sea on Monday evening.
While Essex is unlikely to find itself in the storm’s path some areas of the county are set to see rain over the coming days. Here are the latest Met Office weather forecasts for cities and towns across the county on Monday.

Braintree: Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.
Chelmsford: Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.
Clacton: Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.
Colchester: Heavy rain changing to sunny in the afternoon.
Harlow: Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.
Southend: Heavy rain changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime.
The latest East of England weather forecast from the Met Office for Monday states: “Rather windy, with heavy rain through the morning, persistent for some. Rain clearing by midday with sunny spells following. Winds easing a little, but staying breezy. Turning milder. Maximum temperature 15 °C.”
