Travel chaos for Edinburgh rail passengers as electricity ‘failure …

Passengers[1] travelling through Edinburgh have been warned of "delays and alterations" following the failure of the electricity supply.
ScotRail[2] have confirmed investigations are underway, with another update expected "ASAP". Services running through the station are expected to be cancelled, delayed or revised.
It is currently expected that disruption[3] will last until 7pm this evening, November 2.
On X/Twitter, ScotRail said: "Due to a failure of the electricity supply at Edinburgh, our services will be subject to delay and alteration at this time.
"Investigations are underway and we will provide another update ASAP."

On the ScotRail website, they added: "Due to failure of the electricity supply at Edinburgh train services running through this station will be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"Disruption is expected until 7pm on November 2. We have received reports of the loss of the electrical power at Edinburgh Waverley.

"Our services are unable to operate between into and out of Edinburgh Waverley until the rectified the fault."
Posting to X/Twitter, Lewis McKenzie added: "Chaos at Edinburgh Waverley this evening as there are no trains ANYWHERE. Pretty much every single service appears to be either delayed or cancelled."
Network Rail added: "We're responding to a loss of power to the electricity supply in the Edinburgh area.
"Investigations are underway & we will provide a further update as soon as possible."
