There is major disruption on the Great Western Railway network due to Storm Ciarán.

The following routes are currently affected by the adverse weather:

Between Salisbury and Southampton Central

No services will operate between Salisbury and Southampton until at least midday today. The advice is not to travel on this route today.

Between Taunton and Exeter St David’s

Due to severe weather between Taunton and Exeter St Davids all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Any possible road replacement transport is not expected to be in place before midday. The advice is not to travel on this route today.

Between Liskeard and Looe

All lines between Liskeard and Looe are currently closed due to flooding. Trains are unable to run to and from these stations, and have been cancelled.This is expected until 10:00.Rail tickets are being accepted on Go Cornwall Buses[1] on route 73.

Between Par and Newquay

Due to severe weather between Par and Newquay services have been suspended. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. The advice is not to travel on this route today.

Between St Austell and Penzance

No trains or replacement bus services will operate west of St Austell towards Penzance, inclusive of branch lines, until at least midday today. If travelling from the Plymouth direction towards St Austell, please be advised there will be no onward travel available at St Austell. The advice is not to travel on this route today.

Between St Erth and St Ives

Due to severe weather between St Erth and St Ives services have been suspended. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. The advice is not to travel on this route today.Tomorrow, Friday 3 November:Some disruption is likely to continue into tomorrow morning as Network Rail work to clear any debris and Great Western Railway work toward reinstating services. Check before you travel.

Between Reading and Gatwick Airport

All lines between Reading and Gatwick are currently closed due to severe weather.

Trains running between these stations will be cancelled. This is expected until 12:00. The advice is not to travel on this route today.

Replacement road transport has been requested to run on this route but due to the current conditions is extremely limited.
