Tragedy as A34 pedestrian struck by lorry dies outside Trentham …
A man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A34. Police, paramedics, and the air ambulance were called to Stone Road, near Trentham[1] Estate, yesterday afternoon to reports of a collision between a truck and a pedestrian.
Today and West Midlands Ambulance Service[2] has confirmed that sadly nothing could be done to save the man. Now Staffordshire Police[3] are appealing for witnesses to come forward while the man’s family is being supported by specially-trained officers.
As reported by StokeonTrentLive[4] the route was shut off as emergency services dealt with the incident and the subsequent collision investigation work. An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 3.20pm.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a BASICS emergency doctor, the Midland Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
“Upon arrival we found a man with life-threatening injuries. Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to him. Unfortunately, nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
Collision investigators are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV to come forward.
