Police at scene of multi vehicle collision on A38 near Taunton this …

Pictures captured by passers-by show two vehicles are stopped at the crash site, with several police cars in attendance.

A white Volvo SUV sustained notable front end damage, and the driver of a silver Toyota Prius was also stopped and speaking to officers at the scene.

A supermarket delivery lorry was pulled in close behind the Volvo.

The collision happened at the junction which connects the A361 to the A38 in Walford, just outside of Taunton.

The junction has a slip road from the A361 which requires drivers to merge onto the A38 when heading towards Taunton.

In the opposite direction, drivers from the A38 wishing to join the A361 are forced to cross over the southbound traffic.

The road is not closed as police are directing traffic through the crash site.
