A major Peterborough road has been closed in both directions on Thursday afternoon (November 2) due to an ongoing ‘police incident’. This was first reported at around 1.10pm.

The A1139 Frank Perkins Parkway is shut with heavy traffic from Oxney Road to the A15 Paston Parkway (Eye Roundabout). Congestion is also up to just before J3A.

It is currently unknown at this time how long the road will be closed for. However, emergency services are currently at the scene and police have advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire[1] Police said: “A1139 Frank Perkins Parkway closed between Eye Road roundabout and Eastfield Road/Oxney Road junctions. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes.”
