Person seriously injured after falling down Coventry school chimney

A person suffered serious injuries after they fell down a chimney at a Coventry[1] school this morning (November 5). A crew from Foleshill[2] Fire Station supported colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service after emergency services were alerted to the worrying incident at President Kennedy School in Keresley[3].

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said the casualty suffered 'a bad breakage', though the exact nature of the injuries are unclear at this stage. They were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital shortly after the fall at about 7am.

It's not clear if the casualty was on their own at the time or if anyone else was injured. West Midlands Police[4] and WMAS have been approached for comment.

President Kennedy School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status. The school was founded in 1966.

It was originally to be called either Rookery Farm School or Holbrook High, but the assassination of U.S. President John F Kennedy during the approval stage resulted in the school being named after the President.

he school marked the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination with a series of special assemblies and debates led by its History Department.
