Multi-vehicle crash causes traffic chaos near Dartford Crossing

A multi-vehicle crash caused huge delays on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing on Tuesday afternoon (November 14). Traffic was stopped on the A282 southbound between J1B and J2.

Traffic officers were at the scene and recovery is en route, National Highways said in an initial update. There were six miles of congestion on approach. Motorists were warned to expect 45 minute delays above normal travel time.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: “Long delays and two lanes closed due to accident on M25 clockwise around J2 A2 (Darenth Interchange). Congestion to J30 (Lakeside / Tilbury). “Lanes one and two (of three) remain closed, after traffic was held for around 30 minutes.”
