Motorcyclist in hospital with serious injuries after crash

A Derbyshire road[1] was closed last night (November 2) for around five hours after a crash on a main road near Breadsall[2]. Derbyshire police first reported the incident at the junction of Brookside Road and the A608 around 6.45pm on Thursday, and immediately closed the road.

The road did not reopen again until 12.19am today (November 3) and the police have said they are appealing for witnesses and information regarding the incident. Derbyshire police[3] said in their initial update: "The A608 is currently closed from Dale Acre Way in Derby to Morley due to a collision. The road is expected to be closed for some time so motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route."

Today Derbyshire police[4] released a statement following the collision, stating: "Officers investigating a serious collision in Breadsall are appealing for witnesses and information. We were called to the collision, which involved a motorbike and a car, at the junction of Brookside Road and the A608, just after 5pm on Thursday 2 November.
