A motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries in a Middlesbrough crash has died.

Emergency services rushed to Riverside Park Road[1], at its junction with Raleigh Court, after an Audi A4 and a Honda motorbike collided on Thursday, November 23. Cleveland Police[2] said the biker – who was taken to the James Cook University Hospital[3] in Middlesbrough[4] – sustained “potentially life-threatening injuries.”

Tragically, the force has confirmed that he has died, with his family being supported by specialist officers. A man, aged 25, who was previously arrested in connection with the crash[5] remains on bail.

Police closed off the road between Ironmasters Road roundabout and the junction with Barton Road at the time of the incident, asking motorists to avoid the area. The North East Ambulance Service confirmed that the air ambulance attended the scene.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “A motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries in a collision with an Audi on Riverside Park Road, Middlesbrough shortly after 5.20pm last Thursday (23rd November) has very sadly died. His family is being supported by specialist officers and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.

“A 25-year-old man remains on bail after being arrested in connection with the collision. We would again ask anyone with information or dashcam/cctv footage from the area at that time to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 231987.”
