Moment a car smashed into a tree and fence on Cov street

This is the dramatic aftermath of a horror smash in Coventry[1] that could so easily have had devastating consequences. Somehow the driver managed to walk away from the wreckage after the car they were in hit a tree before ploughing into a fence on a busy residential street.

Police are investigating the crash[2] which happened close to the Beake Avenue junction with Radford[3] Road in Radford at shortly before 7pm on Friday (November 3). Footage taken soon after the crash emerged online.

In the video, a police car with flashing blue lights can be seen on the road in front of where the car hit the tree and the fence. Vehicles slowly pass the crash scene at a time. Two boys are forced to cross the road to avoid the wreckage.

The force of the impact was so strong it caused sections of the metal railings to cave in yet the driver escaped without serious injury and had left the scene by the time emergency services arrived. No one else was involved or injured, CoventryLive understands.
