Man suffers ‘life-threatening injuries’ as paramedics descend on …

Paramedics delivered 'advanced trauma care' to a man left with life-threatening injuries following a crash in Staffordshire. Emergency services were called to Tamworth's Coppice Lane last night to reports of a collision involving one car.

Now West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] says the passenger, a man, is in hospital today having suffered what paramedics have described as 'life-threatening injuries'. Meanwhile the driver of the car, a woman, 'sustained injuries not believed to be serious' and was also taken to hospital.

The alarm was raised just after 10.25pm with two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic sent to the scene.

A spokeswoman said: "Upon arrival we found a woman and a man who were the driver of and a passenger in the car. The man who was the passenger in the car was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained life-threatening injuries. He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment. The woman who was the driver of the car was assessed by ambulance staff at the scene and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. She was conveyed to Good Hope Hospital for further assessment.”

We have contacted Staffordshire Police[2] for a statement.
