Main road closed after crash involving two cars and bus

A section of the A444 had to be closed this morning by police following a crash between two cars and a bus. The incident happened in Stanton, not far from Swadlincote[1] and emergency services were called out at around 7.30am to reports of the collision.

Derbyshire Police[2] confirmed the incident involved two cars and a bus. They added that one person had been taken to hospital with what were thought to be minor injuries reports StaffordshireLive[3].

A spokesperson for the constabulary said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the A444 in Stanton. The collision involved two cars and a bus.

“One person suffered minor injuries and has been taken to hospital. The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered but has now reopened.”
