M62 lorry crash causes severe delays as lanes shut – updates

A crash involving two lorries is causing severe delays on the M62[1] near Gildersome[2] on Monday morning.

Two lanes have been closed on the M62 Westbound by West Yorkshire Police[3] this morning (November 20) following a crash involving two lorries. The motorway has been closed from J27 M621 (Gildersome) to J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar) and is causing severe delays.

There is congestion to to J29 (Lofthouse). The M62 has been closed since around 6.30am and it is unclear when the lanes will be reopened.

Our travel partner, INRIX, reported: “Severe delays and two lanes closed due to accident, two lorries involved on M62 Westbound from J27 M621 (Gildersome) to J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar). Congestion to J29 (Lofthouse).

“Lanes three and four (of four) are closed.”
