M3 warning issued to drivers as a section of the road shuts across …
A warning has been issued to drivers on the M3 in Surrey as a section is set to close. The closure will impact both north and southbound, which will leave drivers travelling overnight diverted away from the usual route.
The M3 is a busy highway which connects Surrey to Southampton in Hampshire, and is in total around 59 miles long. It starts in Sunbury[1] in Surrey, and connects to the busy M25[2] in Staines[3].
A footbridge above the M[4]3 in Bagshot was deemed unsafe in October 2023. The bridge is used by many pupils going to and from college and school from Whitmoor Road. It needs to be demolished, which will require the M3 to be fully closed in both directions from 9pm Friday 8 to 6am Monday 11 December.
