M18 traffic live as lorry hits central reservation with emergency …

There are long delays on the M18 in South Yorkshire as we approach rush hour after a lorry hit the central reservation on the motorway.

Lanes are shut in both directions[1] between Junction 2 and Junction 1 with congestion building up southbound to Junction 3.

Lanes two and three are closed in the southbound direction while lane three remains closed northbound as recovery work takes place. There are long delays in both directions and emergency services are on scene.

The accident happened on the southbound carriageway and involved a lorry hitting the central reservation, according to traffic site Inrix. Its most recent report states: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to recovery work and accident on M18 Southbound from J2 A1(M) J35 to J1 A631 Bawtry Road (Bramley). Congestion to J3 (St Catherines) in the southbound direction.

"Lanes two and three (of three) are now closed in the southbound direction, while lane three (of three) remains closed in the northbound direction. The accident is in the southbound direction in which a lorry has struck the central reservation."
