Live updates as M5 motorists warned to expect delays after crash

Motorists are being warned to expect delays during the rush hour on the M5 following a “police-led incident”. An accident involving a lorry and a van happened took place on the northbound carriageway of the motorway[1] at around 8.30pm at junction 4a yesterday, November 27.

While police investigations at the scene are complete, the road is still closed on Tuesday morning, November 28, for emergency roadworks to take place. It is expected the stretch of the M5 will be closed until around midday, according to National Highways.

Traffic[2] monitoring service Inrix says: “M5 Northbound closed, slow traffic due to emergency repairs at J4A M42. Road has been closed since yesterday evening after an accident involving a lorry and a van.”
