Recap after crash between HGV and motorbike sees Cambs A-road …

A rural Cambridgeshire road was closed following a crash on Friday (November 17). The A1101 Sutton Road was closed in both directions following a collision between an HGV and a motorcycle.

The closure was first reported by traffic data company Inrix shortly after 11am. The road cleared at around 3.30pm. Inrix said: “A1101 Sutton Road Northbound re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared from Swallow Lane to Hannath Road.”

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at about 10.40am today (17 November) with reports of a collision between a HGV and a motorcycle on the A1101. Emergency services attended. Details of injuries are unclear at this time.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.48am to a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a motorbike on the A1101 near Tydd. Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the Magpas Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. The motorcyclist, an adult man, was transported by road to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a serious condition for treatment.”
