Live updates as Guildford High Street closed for ’emergency works’
The top of Guildford High Street has been closed temporarily for “emergency works” . A post by Experience Guildford on X (formally Twitter) shows a Highways Maintenance team parked up outside the Royal Grammar School (RGS) in Guildford.
They first posted about the incident around 10.30am today (November 21). It is not clear what the problem is, but Experience Guildford’s photo shows that a section of the road has been cordoned off with barriers. SurreyLive has contacted Surrey County Council for comment.
The upper High Street is home not only to RGS but also the likes of Pizza Express and hairdressers Toni and Guy.
