Recap: M6 queues after lorry involved in crash

Motorists were being warned of delays on the M6 heading towards Stoke-on-Trent following a crash involving a lorry. Traffic was building up on the southbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 16 following the collision, which happened at around 6.45pm.

Two lanes were closed as motorway police dealt with the aftermath of the smash. It is not known at this stage whether there are any serious injuries.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry involved on M6 southbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach/ Crewe) to J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent / Crewe). Lanes three and four (of four) are closed.”
