Live as Yorkshire road closed in both directions after lorry crash

The A6024 Woodhead Road is currently closed in both directions following a crash.

This accident took place at around 2am to 2.30am this morning and involves a lorry. Now, the road is closed for recovery work.

The road is currently closed between Fieldhead Lane in Holme and Moss Edge View in Holmbridge. The lorry was unable to be recovered in the night and will be this morning.

This morning, the traffic management system, Inrix, said: “A6024 Woodhead Road in both directions closed due to recovery work and earlier accident from Fieldhead Lane (Holme) to Moss Edge View (Holmbridge).

“Lorry unable to be recovered during the night so will be recovered during the morning.”

West Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
