Live as police shut A616 in both directions after Tankersley crash
The A616 is currently closed in both directions following a crash.
According to National Highways, the road is closed between the M1 at junction 35A and the A61 at Tankersley. South Yorkshire Police are also on the scene.
The traffic management system, Inrix, reports there is currently queuing traffic due to the accident.
National Highways said: "South Yorkshire Police currently lead the response to a serious collision which was reported to National Highways at 11:30. Due to the nature of this incident, the carriageway has been closed in both directions while investigations take place. We are currently unable to advise when the road is likely to re-open at this time."

It is currently unclear if anyone has been injured as a result of the accident. South Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
