Leeds trains to be delayed and cancelled all evening due to crane …

Major disruption is expected at Leeds Station for the rest of the day as an unstable crane has led to some building’s being evacuated in the city centre.

Traffic was brought to a standstill and buildings have been evacuated in Leeds City Centre today as an “industrial incident” involving a crane takes place in the city[1]. This crane is believed to be unstable and buildings have been evacuated as a precaution in case it falls.

As a result, there are a number of delays expected across the rail network in the city. While lines have been reopened, “major” disruption is still expected.

National Rail said: “Following the emergency services are dealing with an earlier incident at Leeds station lines have reopened. Trains at this station may continue to be cancelled or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes.

“Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
